Meo's Journey of Awakenings: Conspiring to give you everything you dream pg 9

May 17: Two more days until I leave for Tacloban. I sleet so good last night and I think probably the 2nd night I actually dreamed. Its so busy already! People loading and hauling for the big event downtown. My cold shower felt awesome this morning and I am in disbelief my time here is almost over, and yet I will be happy to sleep in my own bed & snuggle with my love and kitties… I will miss the language in so many ways. and the food!!! Not so much the fish… ;-) Mom is fighting off an infection, no stroke… I cannot explain her memory loss I just wish she would choose to live her life…

I spent the day watching the hustle and bustle all around me. They were cooking and packing everything up to take to the big party in the plaza. Poppa Tony and Mommie Anita took me to the party so I gave the guest of honor a card that I made. I was overwhelmed with the reception I received! The father thanked me for the card, the lawyer thanked me for the card, they all stood around to hear the story about how a white woman made her way to Balangiga because of a 33 year friendship with Poppa Tony. Emotional!!! Beautiful!!! During his speech he spoke about a friend who could not be at the celebration because he perished in the typhoon. This friend was a huge support to the man… I listened to his speech with whole heart and heard him say that the "Universe is conspiring to give you everything you dreamed" and it made me think back to Luna's words to me after I graduated with my BA. This all seems so surreal that I will take this research and use it for my final stage in my academic career. Yet I know that whatever happens after this, there will be an "AFTER THIS"… Whichever door opens up for me, I will walk through it with my head held high, ready and willing!!! I stand in awe of this place…

While I was making my way around the house I saw a sign for a tour of the falls. I thought, how amazing it would be to see them! Before I know it, or speak it, Poppa Tony is ushering me into the car and takes me here. He was unable to take me to the larger falls because the bridge is out… How wonderful is this?? Synchronicity ran my entire life while on this trip!

We kept going to a little baranguay called Sta Rosa - where Joy and Gina-Lynn live. I was swarmed by little kids who were very curious and full of laughter. I was even gifted a little present… :-)
